[agirbi'tʃanu], Agîrbiceanu, Ion, rumänischer Schriftsteller, * Cenade (Alba) 12. 9. 1882, ✝ Klausenburg 28. 5. 1963; Geistlicher, schilderte in seinen Prosawerken mit schonungslosem, an G. Flaubert und L. N. Tolstoj geschultem Realismus das siebenbürgische Milieu, in erster Linie das Leben der armen rumänischen Dorfbewohner. Sein Roman »Arhanghelii« (1914) berichtet vom Aufstieg und Niedergang einer Notarfamilie im westkarpatischen Goldminengebiet.
